People with Acute respiratory distress syndrome may experience the following symptoms: - Severe shortness of breath
- Labored and unusually rapid breathing
- Low blood pressure
- Confusion and extreme tiredness
- Coughing
- Muscle weakness
- Organ dysfunction
Shortness of breath is the leading contributor to patient discomfort of all ARDS factors because it is constantly painful to breathe.
